Hall roof insulation and waterproofing

We insulate and waterproof production hall roofs in Germany. On flat roofs we install FPO membranes or bituminous roofing felt. We plan access and working hours around the areas of the hall in use.

Plan around the roof and the production floor

Different sections of a hall can have different roof structures. A plan showing the area in question, rooflights and service penetrations helps define the work. Marking the production lines below that area also shows where access may be restricted and which working hours need to be agreed with the site team.

What to include in a hall project enquiry

  • Roof section and dimensions

Identify the section to be insulated and give its approximate area and the clear height inside the hall. An existing roof plan or section drawing is useful.

  • Access to the work area

Describe the available site entrances and roof access. Note any machinery, storage racks or fixed services that limit access from inside the hall.

  • Operating hours and restrictions

Include shift times, delivery windows and planned shutdowns. Identify routes that must stay open and any areas where dust or noise would affect operations.

Questions about production hall roofs

Can work take place while production continues?

That depends on access to the roof section, the activity beneath it and the site’s operating requirements. Information about active lines, available breaks and delivery routes helps assess whether the work can be divided into stages.

What if only one section of the roof needs insulation?

Mark the section and its boundaries on a plan or sketch. Describe how adjoining areas are used and whether they are likely to form part of a later phase.

Which suits a hall roof, a synthetic membrane or bituminous roofing felt?

An FPO membrane forms a waterproof surface with sealed, overlapping seams. A bituminous system can be finished with a mineral-surfaced cap sheet. The choice depends on the deck, the condition of any existing waterproofing and the details around rooflights and outlets.

Prepare a project enquiry

Describe the work you have in mind for your home or production hall, such as roofing, thermal or acoustic insulation, or exterior finishing.
